If there are minds like I am human, and there other other
minds similar... now I dont know if this is true but I have decided to agree as
if it was true. I have decided to act as if this is true, even though I dont
believe it and it may not be the real thing, but its the only thing I can see
to go by so here it is.
I have agreed that a mind, and a body that is similar to
mine must have the same type of mind. So
how to read other people’s minds, the best reference you have is yourself,
since you have already agreed that their minds are similar to yours. So “you do unto others as you would want them
to do unto you” it is the way Jesus puts it.
I used to follow this rule, this use to be my golden rule ever since the
first time I remember hearing it, I was in the little Sabbath school, I was at
home, I was probably in preschool, my mom told me or something, and I thought,
whoa, thats a smart way to put it. But
later in the years, probably when I reached second grade or so I asked “But
what if what you would want to be done unto you is not the same thing that
others want to be done unto?” and If minds are similar, why do people do
different things? Act in different ways? Why dont people understand other
people? Why are some better than others?
Well ask this to yourself (just recently age 20 I have been going
through some crisis which has caused me to understand why this is), why do you sometimes feel like eating onions,
and sometimes you dont feel like eating onions?
Now would it be possible for you to feel like eating onions your whole
life? Simple answer is a story of a kid who was born and felt like crying, so
he did, and then he died while he was crying, so yes it is possible to feel
like doing a certain thing for your whole life and not change it. Well the same way, people are the same, “if a
human being can do it, then a human being
can do it” not one is better than the other, not one is different than
the other. So do unto others as you
would want them to do unto you; if you like onions and you love getting onion
gifts, should you give an onion gift to a neighbor? You must think, does this person feel like
getting onion gifts? Now do unto others as you would want them to do unto you
and ask: what kind of gift would I want if I didnt feel like getting onions?
To clarify: by assumption, we are all human, and since we
are all humann we have the same type of mind, and all of our minds work the
same way and each can do what any other mind can, we have each others capacity,
so we are all the same! But we are all in different states of mind, within
ourselves, sometimes I am happy sometimes I am sad, it all depends on what I am
focusing on at the time. And we must
have consideration for these changes and these different states. When I am focusing on something else, I am in
another state of mind, my beliefs are not what they were before, and so its
like I am “another person” (but I am not another person, beecause all persons
have can have different states of mind).
“another person”, better said “another spirit”. Another state of mind,
makes it look like I am in another world.
My world looks completely different because I am focusing on different
things.
We are still all the same, but we are in different sates of
mind, so when one interacts with other people their state of mind must be
considered.
And here again, there may be things that other people have
that you have never had before, so again you dont know and anything is
possible, so be ready for anything with prayer.
Judgemental:
Can you remember a time when you
were prejudice? How and why did you get
over that prejudice?
Another thing to consider is that people change all the
time, just like you, they may struggle to keep an identity, but in the end it
is all an illusion. You can not expect
to have the same friends, or stay with the same people all the time, you may
try, but it will never be like that infinitly small moment in the past. Even
the constancy of their physical identity is an illusion, as time passes by,
they are never like the moment they were before, every moment that passes by,
brings a whole new world that as it leaves, we will never see it again;
something so vivid and exact, that not any memory will ever be able to replace
it.
